Happy
Happy joined the HBE Programme in 2020 because his mother was concerned that her son’s cognitive functioning was behind other children of his age. He was unable to retain information that he was taught at home and in school. Happy’s individualised care plan focused on activities to help improve his memory and cognitive functioning, which included memorising the alphabet, counting, recalling the names of people and places, and learning to write his name. He enrolled in formal school in 2020, and over the past four years he has become increasingly comfortable socialising with other children as exemplified by his ability to navigate conflicts calmly and engage positively with his peers during playtime. His developmental average improved from 67% when he entered the programme, to 100% by the end of 2024.
