Biodiversity Conservation

Together with Time + Tide, the Time + Tide Foundation is deeply committed to safeguarding threatened wildlife and the fragile habitats on which they depend. In Zambia, we partner with local conservation management organisations to strengthen anti-poaching patrols, environmental education, human–wildlife co-existence strategies, and wildlife rehabilitation in and around national parks. In Madagascar, we operate in a lower category protected area where both subsistence and commercial resource extraction is allowed. There is therefore more a urgent need to reduce pressure on primary lemur habitats, which are increasingly threatened by deforestation for charcoal production and expanding agricultural land use.

Our Response

We take a more hands -on role in support of conservation management and sustainable harvesting of resources.  On the protected island of Nosy Ankao, Madagascar, the Time + Tide Foundation manages a dedicated environmental team focused on wildlife monitoring and habitat preservation. Our conservation strategy focuses on habitat protection and restoration, research and monitoring of endangered species, and community engagement through environmental education and local governance. Implemented in close collaboration with Fanamby, the management authority of the Loky-Manambato Protected Area, environmental authorities, universities, and other partners, our conservation programme provides a flexible and integrated roadmap to strengthen conservation and sustainable management of the terrestrial and marine ecosystems of Loky-Manambato.
